Just in time for spring break...new chairs at Peace of Mind
Aren’t you ready for spring break! It’s only February, but I can smell the beach air and feel the warm sunshine now. Here’s what’s new at Peace of Mind and Sea You in Paradise this spring:
1- Peace of Mind will have 8 new chaise lounge chairs for the pool
2- Sea You in Paradise has a BRAND New GAS pool heater. That means you get a warm pool when the air is cool at a much faster rate!
3- Sea You in Paradise has NEW carpet on the 3rd floor. It’s about time!
4- Sea You in Paradise has NEW high def tv’s!
5- Peace of Mind has fresh paint inside!
6- Peace of Mind has new 2nd floor chairs that sit up high- so you can see our beautiful gulf easily over the railing.
7- NetFlix- watch movies on demand at BOTH homes this year!
8- Sea You in Paradise will have a new sofa on the 3rd floor.
Hurry and book now. There are some days left this spring for both homes. Late May & early June are open for Sea You in Paradise. And of course, fall will be here before you know it! Fall is a great time to visit Seagrove!

Love to fish? Love an adventure? Do more than four of you want to fish? OR….Don’t care to fish, but want to be with your family for the day? Then The Best Bet is the private charter fishing boat for you. Captain Leveral Raffield owns this boat docked at Treasure Island Marina in Panama City Beach, Florida. Most charter boats take only 4 people out at a time. The Raffield boats can take 8-10 people (even 20 if you want to take turns fishing) on their very clean and comfy boats.
Why take his boat?
1- All 10 of us could go out together. Most charter boats hold 4 people max. You can take up to 20, but all 20 can’t fish at the same time.
2- You only have to fish for 4 hours max. You can go out longer- even all day. We wanted to get back and spend the rest of our day on the beach.
3- Does the water make you hungry? Matt & Billy will fry up a sampling of what you catch on the way in. You get the freshest of fresh fish. This includes homemade cocktail sauce too!
4- Don’t like to bait your hook? Billy will make sure you keep your hands clean all morning
5- Do you get bored easily? You won’t on this boat. Matt has a second sense on where to find the fish. They are hitting your line as soon as you drop it in the water.
6- Catching fish out of season? Don’t worry, he’ll move the boat and find another school that is in season.
7- Do you like to be “inside”? They have an air conditioned or heated cabin. They even have 4 bunks and a head- so you can nap & potty as needed!
8- Do you hate fish guts? Billy keeps the fishing area very clean. You never see any fish blood or guts.
9-Want to make great memories? We had so much fun and will be talking about this trip for years!

No- the title of this blog is not asking you “what’s up?”….. SUP is another name for Stand Up Paddle boarding. It looks like a surf board, weighs about 40 lbs, and you stand up either on nice, calm water (me) OR try your skills on choppy water or waves (my son). Either way you try it….you will love this new sport. Watch for it on your inland lakes very soon!

Summer dog after a LONG swim in the gulf
The sunsets were especially pretty this past spring break on Seagrove Beach. My dog summer is lucky that she is “officially” allowed on the beach after 5pm and before 8am because of her dog tag. She keeps her nose to the water and wags her short tail non stop the entire time we are on the beach. I feel guilty going down there at sunset without her.

This is a banner year for travelers to the beautiful beaches of South Walton. Even the dolphin are showing up in huge numbers! On our last trip to visit our home in Seagrove, we saw dolphin every day in the gulf. They came through around 9-10am each morning and around 5-6pm each afternoon. Sometimes we saw one or two, but there were times when large pods came by.
There is something so special about seeing wild dolphins just steps away from us in the gulf. It makes you stop, take a deep breath, and thank God for our wonderful world and His amazing creatures!

These creatures are so gentle and sweet. The tours are very well run. If you love nature and animals, you will have a BLAST!

2nd floor balcony at Sea You in Paradise
My family has stayed in several beach houses in the South Walton area and Sea You in Paradise is our favorite by far. The house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The extra large bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs are wonderful. We love the ocean views from the decks. The well equipped kitchen made it easy to cook large meals. Jim and Kelli chose Peace of Mind & Sea You in Paradise for their special day. They were married in November 2011 on the beach near the Walton Dunes Beach Access. It’s a wide open beach, with plenty of room for guests and “I do’s”!. Their photos are stunning! Jesi Godwin has a great eye for photos.
